Our School and Community Leadership classes learned about these benefits and practiced leading interactive read alouds with their peers. The classes will prepare a read aloud to complete with the BOCES students to help foster a love of literature. They are a tricky beast to master! - just ask any teacher. A variety of factors influence the success of your presentation, including but not limited to: your body language, your tone of voice, the interactivity of the presentation, and the visual materials. If I could give students one tip to improve their presentation skills it would be to speak with confidence, not from a script, and in an engaging tone of voice. Award winning novel The Hate U Give was recently adapted to film with great success. With a cast full of stars, a compelling and thought-provoking plot, and a score of 97% from movie review site Rotten Tomatoes consider giving this one a watch (and a read). It's the start of a new school year - you want to make a positive impression on your teachers but many of us have never been taught how to write a "formal" email! When asking a teacher a question via email there are some general guidelines you can use to help you express that you are studious, respectful, and caring.
